AsthedaydrewintheChild—Who—Was—Tireddidnotknowhowtofighthersleepinessanylonger。Shewasafraidtositdownorstandstill。AsshesatatsuppertheManandtheFrauseemedtoswelltoanimmensesizeasshewatchedthem,andthenbecomesmallerthandolls,withlittlevoicesthatseemedtocomefromoutsidethewindow。Lookingatthebaby,itsuddenlyhadtwoheads,andthennohead。Evenhiscryingmadeherfeelworse。Whenshethoughtofthenearnessofbedtimesheshookalloverwithexcitedjoy。Butaseighto’clockapproachedtherewasthesoundofwheelsontheroad,andpresentlyincameapartyoffriendstospendtheevening。
